The HB5020 is a uniquely LED driver IC designed for LED display panel. It has built-in 16-bit CMOS shift register and latch function, which converts serial input data into parallel output data format. HB5020’s input voltage range 3.3V to 5V, and it has sixteen regulated current ports which are designed to provide 3mA to 45mA uniform and constant current for driving LEDs. The output current difference is less than ±1.5% between channels of single IC; and the output current difference is less than ±3% between ICs; constant output current is changed with the voltage of output port (VDS) which is controlled in 0.1%/V; the current change is also controlled in 1% with the supply voltage (VDD) and environmental temperature. HB5020 can choose different value of external resistor to adjust the output current, by this mechanism, users can accurately control LED luminous brightness.
HB5020 guarantees to endure maximum 17V at the output port, therefore it can cascade multiple LEDs in each output port. In addition, HB5020 also provides the high clock frequency, 30MHz, to satisfy the system requirements of high volume data transmission.
